Environment
POLICY

Our policy regarding Environmental Protection is regulated by the principle of generating the least environmental impact and reducing environmental risks, raising awareness on our personnel, suppliers and community to safeguard our ecosystem. In COPAVISA we are committed with training on this subject, so we provide all necessary tools and means so all employees have knowledge and can execute their activities efficiently, always protecting the environment and bearing in mind the flora and fauna.
COPAVISA, in the work field, everyday assigns time for talks with all personnel in order to raise awareness about the responsibility we have in the execution of our work and specific activities, using our five senses responsibly and efficiently so we do not generate any risks to our environment, community and ourselves. Likewise, field supervisors carry out effective evaluations to ensure compliance in all activities executed by our personnel, encouraging and advising them in any questions or requirements.
PROJECTS

In COPAVISA we develop internal projects and campaigns related to the environment's protection. These campaigns are carried out quarterly according to the latent need we identify in the operations zone. We conduct a campaign work which involves all personnel, from directors to all indirect members like suppliers or nearby communities' inhabitants, aiming to create a sustainability culture in favor of our ecosystem.
Some of the projects, campaigns and training programs we have worked on are:
- Organic, inorganic and toxic waste management.
- Recycling system, result of good practices.
- Use of industrial safety basic personal equipment.
- Protection of the region's flora: discourage logging.
- Work permits control in risky zones.
- Effective internal and external audits by certified personnel.
- Annual gathering.
- Dynamics and sport tournaments with the Company's personnel.
- Occupational health: hygiene and care.
- Conduct and good manners rules.
- First aids.
- REFORESTATION: to celebrate the Environment's World Day, we carried out reforestation campaigns in all work zones. We researched all native species in the zone, investing resources to involve all personnel –including directors– stimulating our community's awareness and commitment.
- SOCIAL ACTIONS: we support non-profit associations that attend to children with cystic fibrosis (AMFQ), as well as institutions that aid children whose mothers are serving time in jail (FUNFAI). Additionally, we promote our workers' literacy to encourage the increase in their education level. Likewise, we have delivered wheelchairs to people in vulnerable economic situations.
- SKILLS DEVELOPMENT / TRAINING: the human resources department constantly carries out investigations regarding our personnel and their training and growth needs. Therefore, not only do we implement a health and safety culture, but we invest in our staff's development and updating.
